OpenAI has launched a new subscription plan called ChatGPT Go in India, offering a cheaper alternative to the existing ChatGPT Plus plan. Priced at ₹399 per month, ChatGPT Go is currently the most affordable way to access OpenAI’s popular AI chatbot, available on web, iOS, Android, and desktop platforms.

The new plan provides users with higher message limits, larger file uploads, and more image generation options. It also includes advanced data analysis tools and longer memory, allowing ChatGPT to remember conversations for a longer time and give more personalised responses. However, API access is not included and will be billed separately.

To subscribe to ChatGPT Go, users need to log in to ChatGPT on web or mobile, click the profile icon, select Upgrade Plan, choose Try Go, and make the payment using Credit Card or UPI. Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR) for Indian users.

Compared to the free plan, ChatGPT Go offers 10 times higher message limits, more image generations, and larger file uploads. It also grants access to OpenAI’s GPT-5 model, enabling users to work with documents, spreadsheets, and Python tools more effectively. Users can organise tasks, manage projects, and even create custom GPTs for personalised AI tools.

Nick Turley, head of ChatGPT at OpenAI, said, “Making ChatGPT more affordable has been a key request from users. We are launching Go in India first and will expand to other countries after learning from user feedback.”

Some features available in the ChatGPT Plus plan are not included in ChatGPT Go. These include access to Sora, OpenAI’s video-generation model, and the Codex agent, which can answer coding questions, run code, and help with programming tasks.

Overall, ChatGPT Go makes OpenAI’s AI tools more accessible and affordable in India while giving users extended capabilities to communicate, create, and analyse data. The plan is expected to be rolled out in other countries soon, giving more users around the world a chance to enjoy advanced AI features at a lower price.
