Toyota has come up with the Urban Cruiser Ebella, which is its very first fully electric SUV in India that can be considered a mass-market one. The year 2026 saw the start of bookings, and the price of the vehicle is expected to be released very soon. The new electric vehicle (EV) will be pitted against the Hyundai Creta Electric, which has been in the market since January 2025 and is already a hit with the customers.
Thus, the question arises, can the Urban Cruiser Ebella of Toyota take on the much-acclaimed Creta Electric? Let’s see it simply.
Battery and Range
Toyota Electric Urban Cruiser strongly emphasizes the long-distance driving range. Battery two options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh are provided. According to Toyota, the maximum range is possible with a fully charged battery up to 543 km.
The same goes for the Hyundai Creta Electric too, which offers two battery choices: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. Its claimed range is 473 km which is lower than that of Creta but it is more in line with everyday driving and good performance.
Interior and Features
The Urban Cruiser Ebella has a modern and clean interior. Features include a digital display of 10.25 inches, a touchscreen of 10.1 inches, front seats that are ventilated, a panoramic sunroof, and a driver’s seat that can be powered. The flat floor design contributes to a more spacious vibe.
The Creta Electric exudes luxury. Dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless phone connectivity, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) support are some of its features. Also, the i-Pedal one-pedal driving feature of the Creta is very handy in city driving conditions.
Design and Safety
The Ebella is constructed over an upcoming electric platform that is common with the Maruti eVitara. It has a neat design with LED lighting and aerodynamic wheels. In terms of safety, it provides seven airbags, stability control and Level-2 ADAS features.
Similarly, the Creta Electric has synonymous with good safety features and high-end driver assistance, so the two SUVs can be compared equally.
To sum up, the Ebella presents high range and safety, whilst the Creta Electric gives the tested performance and luxurious features.
