WhatsApp has introduced new features to make group chats easier and more organised. The latest update brings member tags, text stickers, and better event reminders to help users communicate clearly and manage plans smoothly.
One of the main features is member tags. This allows users to add a short label next to their name in a group chat. The tag can show a person’s role or identity in that group. For example, someone can be named “Anna’s Dad” in a school group and “Goalkeeper” in a sports group. These tags are custom for each group, so the same person can use different labels in different chats. This helps members quickly understand who is who, especially in large groups where people may not know each other well.
WhatsApp has also added text stickers. With this feature, users can turn any typed word into a sticker by using the Sticker Search. These text stickers can be saved directly into sticker packs without sending them first. This makes it easy to reuse favourite words, jokes, or reactions and adds a fun and personal touch to chats.
In addition, WhatsApp has improved event reminders in group chats. These reminders notify users earlier so they do not forget important plans or meetings.
According to WhatsApp, these new features build on existing group tools such as sharing large files, HD photos and videos, screen sharing, and voice chats. The company said the update will be rolled out gradually, so all users may not see it at once.
Overall, these changes aim to make group chats more clear, fun, and easier to manage for everyone.
