Paytm, one of India’s biggest digital payment platforms, has redesigned its mobile app with a cleaner look and several new AI-powered features. The update aims to make the app faster, easier to use, and more personalized for its millions of users.
According to the company, the refreshed app has a simpler layout that makes it easier to find key tools and manage accounts. Users can now view all linked bank accounts together in a single “Total Balance” dashboard, allowing them to check their total funds at a glance without switching between accounts.
The new artificial intelligence (AI) features are designed to make money management smarter. One major highlight is the Monthly Spend Summary, which automatically categorizes expenses under different sections such as shopping, travel, food, or utilities. This helps users understand where their money goes every month.
Paytm has also introduced a new Payment Search tool. This allows users to search their payment history using details like name, amount, or notes added during the transaction. The app now also displays Payment Location, helping users see where each payment was made.
Another smart addition is the “Magic Paste” feature. It allows users to copy bank details from messages or apps like WhatsApp, and Paytm will automatically fill in the account number and IFSC code. The app also includes a new “Receive Money” widget, which lets users show their QR code right on the phone’s home screen without needing to open the app.
Paytm has launched a “Gold Coins” reward programme, where users earn digital coins for every payment they make. These coins can later be converted into digital gold directly through the app.
Additionally, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from 12 countries can now use their NRE or NRO accounts to make payments in India without paying extra foreign exchange charges.
For a fun twist, Paytm also added “Paytm Playback”, an AI feature that creates a personalised rap song based on the user’s recent spending patterns.
With these updates, Paytm is focusing on simplicity, smart AI integration, and user engagement to make payments more efficient and enjoyable.
