Yamaha India has expanded its motorcycle and electric vehicle lineup with the launch of the XSR155, its first modern retro sport motorcycle in India, alongside two electric scooters—the AEROX-E and EC-06. The company also introduced a new FZ model, the FZ-RAVE, aimed at young riders in the 150cc segment.
The XSR155 is priced at Rs 1,49,990 (ex-showroom Delhi) and comes with a 155cc liquid-cooled engine featuring Variable Valve Actuation. It delivers 13.5 kW of power and 14.2 Nm of torque. Built on Yamaha’s Deltabox frame, the motorcycle offers upside-down front forks, dual-channel ABS, and traction control for enhanced safety and performance. Buyers can choose from four colours and two accessory packages—Scrambler and Café Racer—giving the bike a personalized touch.
Yamaha’s entry into electric vehicles marks a key step for the Indian market. The AEROX-E electric scooter comes with a 9.4 kW peak power motor and dual detachable 3kWh batteries, offering a certified range of 106 km. It includes Eco, Standard, Power, and Boost riding modes, a reverse function, twin LED headlights, a colour TFT display with navigation, and Y-connect mobile app support.
The EC-06 scooter targets interurban commuting and has a 4.5 kW motor with 6.7 kW peak power, paired with a fixed 4 kWh battery. It can travel 160 km on a single charge and fully charges in about nine hours using a regular home plug. The scooter comes with front and rear disc brakes, LED lighting, under-seat storage of 24.5 litres, and an integrated telematics system.
For traditional bikes, the FZ-RAVE enhances Yamaha’s FZ portfolio. Priced at Rs 1,17,218 (ex-showroom Delhi), it has a 149cc air-cooled engine producing 9.1 kW of power. The bike features full-LED projector headlamps, single-channel ABS, and front and rear disc brakes. Available in Matte Titan and Metallic Black, it continues the legacy of the popular FZ-S, with over 2.75 million units sold in India.
Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, said India is a central market for Yamaha’s global growth. The launches align with the country’s push toward sustainable mobility and Yamaha’s Environmental Plan 2050. All models will be available through Yamaha’s dealer network across India, with production at its facilities in Surajpur, UP, and Kanchipuram, TN.
This move strengthens Yamaha’s presence in both premium motorcycles and the growing electric vehicle segment, catering to the evolving preferences of Indian riders.
