Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra May Get Bigger Battery, Faster Charging

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Likely to Launch in February 2026

Samsung may finally upgrade the battery of its flagship Galaxy S Ultra phone. A recent tip claims that the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra could come with a 5,500mAh battery and support for 65W fast charging. If true, this will be the first time since 2020 that Samsung has increased the battery capacity in its Galaxy S Ultra series.

The current Galaxy S25 Ultra, like the Galaxy S24 Ultra before it, uses a 5,000mAh battery. Although Samsung hasn’t increased the battery size for years, its phones still offer good battery life. This is because of efficient processors and smart software optimisation. But with growing competition and increasing user expectations, Samsung may now be ready to offer more power.

The tip comes from user @chunvn8888 on X (formerly Twitter). Interestingly, this contradicts a previous leak that said there would be no battery upgrade in the S26 Ultra. If Samsung does go ahead with the larger battery, it will be welcome news for users who want longer usage and quicker recharging.

Leaks also say that the Galaxy S26 Ultra might have a slightly larger display than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which already has a 6.9-inch screen. A bigger display could mean more power consumption, which explains the need for a bigger battery.

Other expected features include a custom Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chip, made with a 3nm process by TSMC, which could help with speed and energy efficiency. The phone may also use a new 200MP camera sensor from Sony, which could offer better photos than Samsung’s own sensor used in the current model.

Samsung has not officially confirmed the Galaxy S26 Ultra or its launch date, but it is likely to debut early next year. Fans are eagerly waiting for the official details, especially to see if the battery and camera upgrades really make it to the final version.
