The OnePlus Pad Go 2 enters the mid-range tablet market with a clear goal: to offer an iPad-like experience at a lower price. Starting at Rs. 26,999 in India, the tablet delivers a good mix of design, display quality, software features, and battery life. While it is not perfect, it gets most things right for everyday users.
In terms of design, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 clearly takes inspiration from the iPad. It has flat edges, rounded corners, and a slim body that feels modern and clean. Despite its large 12.1-inch size, the tablet is comfortable to hold and easy to carry. The plastic back looks premium, though it attracts fingerprints easily. The camera module has moved to the corner, similar to Apple’s design, and does not cause wobbling on flat surfaces.
The display is one of the tablet’s biggest strengths. It features a 12.1-inch 2.8K LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is sharp, colourful, and great for watching videos, reading, or browsing. The 7:5 aspect ratio strikes a good balance for both entertainment and productivity. However, the display is quite reflective, which can be distracting outdoors.
The Pad Go 2 runs on Android 16-based OxygenOS 16. The software experience is smooth and polished, with Open Canvas multitasking being a highlight. Users can run multiple apps side by side, use picture-in-picture mode, and switch between windows easily. Stylus support is also included, making it useful for note-taking and light creative work. OnePlus promises five years of Android updates and six years of security updates, which is excellent for a tablet in this price range.
Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra processor. For daily tasks like streaming, browsing, online classes, and office work, the tablet performs well. Gaming is decent at medium settings, though heavy games may show some lag over long sessions. The addition of 5G support is a big plus, allowing internet access even without Wi-Fi.
Cameras are average, which is expected for tablets. The 8MP front and rear cameras are fine for video calls but not for serious photography.
Battery life is impressive. The large 10,050mAh battery easily lasts a full day or more. Charging is slower, but acceptable.
Overall, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is a solid Android tablet and a good alternative to the iPad for users who want strong multitasking, long battery life, and 5G support at a lower price.
