A Fresh Take on Foldable Design
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, priced at ₹1,72,999, marks Google’s third attempt at a foldable phone — and it’s clearly improving. While it looks similar to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the new model packs big changes inside. The highlight is a new gearless hinge that makes the phone smoother to open and more durable. It also carries an IP68 rating, meaning it’s resistant to both dust and water, a big plus for foldable fans.
Google has managed to fit in a bigger battery and introduced Pixel Snap, a magnetic wireless charging system. The phone feels sturdy and premium, though it’s still heavy at 258 grams, making it one of the heaviest foldables in its class. The rear texture resists fingerprints, and the Moonstone grey-lilac finish adds a classy touch.
Display, Software, and Performance
The outer display is slightly larger at 6.4 inches, while the main display expands to 8 inches, both offering bright, clear visuals under sunlight. The LTPO OLED screen adjusts refresh rates smoothly, and colours look natural. However, the bezels remain thick compared to rivals like Samsung and Vivo.
Running on Android 16 with Pixel UI, the phone feels fresh and smooth. It comes with seven years of updates, ensuring long-term support. New AI tools like Magic Cue and Camera Coach aim to make daily use smarter, though Magic Cue still needs polish.
The Tensor G5 chip, made by TSMC, delivers good performance for multitasking and gaming. Games like Call of Duty: Mobile run easily without heating issues. However, Google limits storage to 256GB, which might disappoint heavy users.
Camera performance remains solid but not “Pro.” The 48MP main sensor, 10.8MP telephoto, and 10.5MP ultra-wide capture sharp, colourful images but fall short of Samsung’s foldable cameras.
Overall, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold shows how far Google has come — a mix of strong design, smart AI, and smoother performance — though it still has room to grow.
