The National Testing Agency (NTA) has expanded the list of exam centres for the NIFT Entrance Examination 2026 (NIFTEE-2026). Two new cities, Vapi in Gujarat and Daman in Daman and Diu, have been added to make it easier for students to reach their exam centres. The move aims to improve convenience for candidates from nearby regions.

According to officials, the decision was taken after NTA received several requests from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The goal is to reduce travel difficulties and help students appear for the exam closer to their homes. An official notification said the new centres were added keeping in mind the benefit and comfort of aspirants from the concerned areas.

Before this change, NIFTEE-2026 was already being conducted in 100 cities across India. With the addition of Vapi and Daman, the total number of exam cities has now increased to 102. This makes the entrance test more accessible to a larger number of students planning to pursue fashion and design education.

Candidates who have already submitted their application forms and selected other exam cities will get a chance to choose the newly added centres. They can do this during the correction window, which will be opened by NTA. Students are advised to keep checking the official website for updates related to correction dates and instructions.

NTA has also clarified that it will try its best to allot candidates a centre in their preferred city. However, due to administrative or logistical reasons, the agency may assign an exam centre in a different city if required.

The application process for NIFT Entrance Examination 2026 started on December 8, 2025, and will continue until January 6, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website at exams.nta.nic.in/niftee.

The entrance exam is scheduled to be held on February 8, 2026 (Sunday). It will be conducted for admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, lateral entry (NLEA), artisans category, and PhD programmes for the 2026–27 academic session.

The exam will take place in both Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Pen-and-Paper Test (PBT) modes across all 102 cities. Students are advised to prepare well and stay updated with official notifications to avoid missing important deadlines.
