US President Donald Trump has announced a massive $300 billion oil refinery project in the United States, calling it the biggest deal of its kind in the country’s history. The investment will involve India’s major energy company Reliance Industries Limited.
Trump shared the announcement on his social media platform, Truth Social. He said the refinery will be built at the Port of Brownsville. According to him, this will be the first new oil refinery constructed in the US in about 50 years.
Trump described the project as a major step toward restoring what he called America’s “energy dominance.” He said the refinery will increase domestic fuel production and reduce dependence on foreign energy sources. The project is also expected to help strengthen national security and support fuel exports to global markets.
The new refinery will be developed by a company called America First Refining. Trump thanked India and Reliance Industries for making such a large investment in the United States. He called Reliance the largest privately held energy company involved in the partnership.
The refinery is expected to bring major economic benefits to the region. Trump said it would create thousands of jobs, especially in South Texas. In addition, the project could generate billions of dollars in economic activity for local communities.
