Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) is coming back to New Delhi this year with its 25th edition, celebrating 25 years of fashion and creativity. The event will take place from October 8 to 12, 2025, in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).
Celebrating 25 Years of Fashion
Lakmé Fashion Week is held twice a year, alternating between Delhi and Mumbai. Earlier this year, the Mumbai edition kicked off the silver jubilee celebrations with a special showcase highlighting the event’s journey. Now, the spotlight shifts to Delhi, where the platform will continue its celebration with an even bigger fashion showcase.
Sunanda Khaitan, Vice President of Lakmé India, said the fashion week has been a trendsetter in Indian fashion and beauty for more than two decades. She added that this season will not only honour the legacy of the event but also bring in fresh ideas, new talent, and innovation. The focus will be on reimagining global fashion while keeping Indian craftsmanship at its core.
A Platform for Creativity and Business
The Delhi edition will highlight some of the most influential designers and celebrate India’s diverse craft traditions. According to Sunil Sethi, Chairman of FDCI, the event is not only about glamour but also about boosting the business of fashion. He stressed that the aim is to create platforms that empower designers, open new markets, and connect creativity with commerce.
Organised by Lakmé, Reliance Brands Ltd., and FDCI, the event is known as India’s premier fashion showcase, often setting trends that influence both Indian and international fashion. The list of participating designers has not been announced yet, but it is expected to feature leading names as well as fresh talent.
Looking Ahead
Lakmé Fashion Week has played a key role in shaping India’s style narrative on a global stage. As the Delhi edition approaches, it promises a mix of heritage, innovation, and future-forward fashion, making it one of the most awaited style events of the year.
