Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with global chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) services for enterprise clients. This move shows TCS’s strong push to become the world’s largest AI-led technology services company.

Under this partnership, TCS and AMD will jointly develop industry-specific AI solutions. These solutions will use AMD’s powerful EPYC processors and Instinct graphics chips. The main goal is to help companies move beyond AI testing and start using AI at full scale in daily business operations.

Many global firms are still stuck at the pilot stage of Generative AI projects. TCS aims to solve this problem by modernising old IT systems and creating AI-powered digital workplaces. This will allow companies to use AI in a more practical and productive way.

The deal comes shortly after TCS reported a strong rise in its AI business. In the quarter ending December 31, the company’s annualised AI services revenue jumped 17.3% to $1.8 billion. Although this is still a small part of TCS’s $30 billion total revenue, AI is quickly becoming a key growth driver, especially at a time when traditional IT spending remains slow.

TCS CEO K. Krithivasan said the partnership with AMD will help enterprises move from AI experiments to real, large-scale deployment. He has also said that 2026 will be a major year for AI, with clients focusing more on returns and real value instead of new ideas alone.

As part of the agreement, TCS will set up special centres of excellence. These centres will train employees on AMD’s hardware and software. TCS already has a large AI-ready workforce, with over 217,000 employees trained in AI skills.

The partnership will focus on sectors that need high computing power. In life sciences, AI will be used for drug discovery. In banking and financial services, it will help with smarter risk management.

This deal is part of TCS’s wider AI push. Recently, the company also expanded its partnership with Google Cloud and announced plans to build large AI-ready data centres. Together, these steps show TCS’s strong focus on AI-driven growth.
