Zingbus Targets ₹350 Crore Revenue With New Routes

The New Delhi-based intercity bus service Zingbus has ambitious plans for the future, not the least of which is a more than ₹350 crore revenue target for the financial year 2026. The company communicated this news on Monday, thus showing its solid trust in the growth plans. The target represents a revenue increase over FY25, which is in line with the financial filings that the company has lodged with the Registrar of Companies.

The main focus of the company is the expansion of its network all over India. Just recently, Zingbus has added 28 more routes to its Zingbus Maxx and Zingbus Plus services. The new routes mostly connect cities in North and South India. Besides new routes, the company has also put more buses on the existing routes. The goal of this step is to provide more travel options and flexible timings to passengers.

Prashant Kumar, Zingbus co-founder and CEO, explained that the company is applying a demand-based expansion strategy. This implies that new routes are introduced only when there is a stable and high number of passengers. He added that the company is not only growing but is also very much focused on the efficiency of operations.

Up to now, Zingbus has managed to provide service to about three million passengers. The company adopts an asset-light business model, which implies that it does not possess buses but rather collaborates with local bus providers. This model has led to the company’s annual fleet size doubling while at the same time getting closer to the point of making profit.

The company Zingbus has also taken measures towards being environment friendly. The company has brought new electric buses into its fleet very recently. It has gone ahead with its electric vehicle usage and other eco-friendly practices and has declared to have cut down the emission of carbon dioxide by more than 593,000 kilograms. This number has been derived with the aid of the climate-impact partner Climes.

Currently, Zingbus has more than 300 buses running in its fleet. These buses provide connections between over 200 cities in more than 20 states. The company has performed around 6 million trips to date. Zingbus intends to introduce additional routes in South India during the next few months by collaborating closely with more bus operators.
