Tata Motors unveiled a cheaper all-wheel drive model of its electric SUV, the Tata Harrier.ev. New Fearless+ QWD 75 will cost Rs 26.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and advance AWD technology will be available to a greater number of customers.
Previously, only the best model of the dual-motor Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) was on sale. Tata targets customers to purchase this new trim in order to have good performance and control at a cheaper price.
The SUV is positioned on the acti.ev+ platform of Tata and will be powered with a dual-motor arrangement, where there is a motor on both wheels. It generates 313 bhp and 504 Nm of power and torque respectively. It takes only 6.3 seconds to accelerate the car to 100 kmph, which makes it one of the fastest electric SUVs in its range.
The Harrier.ev has six terrain modes to enhance driving ability in addition to the Off-Road Assist and Boost Mode. These characteristics assist the vehicle in doing well both in the rough roads and in the day to day city driving.
The Fearless+ QWD 75 version has a 75 kWh battery pack. The company claims that it is capable of traveling a distance of up to 622 km with a single charge thus can be used in long routes.
The SUV has numerous luxury features in the cabin. These are ventilated front seats, driver seat with memory feature and power, 360-degree camera, 2-zone climate, and 10-speaker JBL audio system. Nonetheless, certain unique functions such as ADAS and auto park assist are not provided in this model.
The Harrier.ev has similarly been given a 5-star rating on safety by Bharat NCAP. Tata is also providing lifetime battery warranty which provides buyer confidence.
This new variant is already doing very well in terms of sales and this means that the new variant will increase its popularity further.
