New Nissan Tekton SUV: Design, Features and Launch Details

Nissan is all set to add a new mid-size SUV called the Nissan Tekton to the portfolio in India. Currently, the Magnite is the sole Nissan product in the Indian market. The introduction of the Tekton signifies the company’s strong intention to regain the lost ground in the trendy premium SUV category which is also very competitive.

The platform of Nissan Tekton will be that of Renault Duster which is soon to be launched. The first half of 2026 is expected to be the launch window. Before the official unveiling, the digit design renderings based on the teaser images and spy shots of the SUV have come out online giving a good glimpse of its possible look.

The renders predict that Tekton would be a boxy and muscular SUV which is the most preferred style by buyers in India. It shows the typical flat bonnet with strong lines beneath it, a bold front take, and wide body cladding. Along with all these features, the SUV gets the latest technology with LED DRLs going all the way around, narrow LED lamps, and a front bumper artistically designed with silver accents. On the body side, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, and rear door handles on the C-pillar are some of the features that give the Tekton a modern touch.

LED tail lamps are likely to be the rear’s distinguishing character. In addition, the renders show the use of glass with a privacy feature; however, the production model may not come with this feature.

The Nissan Tekton is expected to be loaded with all modern features in the cabin. Modern features may range from a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, electronic brake, ADAS, and leatherette upholstery.

The engine compartment of the Tekton is mainly conceived for the petrol version. A hybrid model could be provided subsequently. The SUV, once introduced, will have to face competition from the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, and more.
