Maruti Suzuki has initiated the process of exporting its premium SUV, Victoris, to foreign markets. The SUV will get a different name—Across—in the countries outside India. The initial shipment consisted of more than 450 units dispatched from the ports Mundra and Pipavav located in Gujarat.
The Across will be available in 100 plus countries and regions mainly focusing the sales in Latin America, Middle East and Africa. This strategy is a part of Maruti Suzuki’s vision of “Make in India, Make for the World”.
Safety is one of the most important features of the Victoris. The SUV has been awarded a five-star rating by both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP, which ranks it among the safest cars of the company.
Maruti Suzuki’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, stated that the company exported more than 390,000 vehicles in 2025, thus affirming its position as the largest passenger vehicle exporter from India for the fifth consecutive year. Furthermore, he indicated that Maruti Suzuki’s export growth over the past five years has been significantly higher than the overall industry growth.
The Victoris was introduced in India in September 2025 and targeted at the youth market. It shares the same platform with the Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The ex-showroom price in India is Rs. 10.50 lakh.
The SUV is available with three engine choices: a mild-hybrid petrol, a strong hybrid petrol, and a petrol-CNG variant. The buyers have an option between manual and automatic transmissions, and all-wheel drive is also available for some high-end variants.
With the commencement of global exports, Maruti Suzuki is optimistic that the Across will gain strong acceptance in the international markets.
