Bengaluru-based startup Flowatt Battery Science has raised ₹2.2 crore in pre-seed funding, led by startup accelerator PedalStart. The company plans to use the funds to improve its battery technology, complete its proof-of-concept, and build strong partnerships with insurers, financiers, and EV manufacturers.
Flowatt focuses on electric vehicle (EV) battery management and aims to make batteries more affordable, efficient, and long-lasting. The company’s electric battery solution is based on three main goals — lowest cost, longest life, and guaranteed buyback. Flowatt uses IoT, data analytics, and predictive maintenance to monitor and improve battery performance.
The startup operates under a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. This system allows fleet operators to rent batteries instead of buying them, reducing upfront costs and ensuring smoother, more efficient operations. So far, Flowatt has deployed around 1,500 batteries across multiple Indian cities.
With the new investment, the company plans to expand to over 15 cities and deploy more than 20,000 high-performance batteries by 2026–27. It also aims to achieve monthly recurring revenue of over ₹2.5 crore.
Flowatt was founded in December 2023 by Siddhartha Srivastava, Bikesh Jha, and Vikash Singh, who bring experience from top firms like Ola Electric, Flipkart, and Myntra. The founders say the new funding marks a major milestone that will help Flowatt grow and deliver better battery solutions for India’s fast-growing EV market.
PedalStart co-founders Manas Pal and Aditya Darolia praised Flowatt for solving a key challenge in India’s EV ecosystem — turning expensive battery ownership into a flexible service model. They also highlighted Flowatt’s strong focus on battery assurance, lifecycle management, and recycling for second-life use.
Flowatt’s technology includes a battery assurance system for real-time monitoring and health tracking, helping improve sustainability and battery reuse. With its integrated approach to battery intelligence and circular economy projects, Flowatt aims to become a global leader in smart, sustainable battery solutions.
