Kia India Slashes Prices Up to ₹4.48 Lakh After GST Cut

Kia India has announced a major price reduction across its internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle portfolio, following the recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms by the Government of India. Starting September 22, 2025, customers will enjoy price cuts ranging from ₹48,513 to a massive ₹4.48 lakh, depending on the model.

Big Relief for Buyers

Among the lineup, the premium MPV Carnival sees the steepest price drop of nearly ₹4.5 lakh, while the Carens receives the smallest reduction at under ₹50,000. This bold step is part of Kia’s effort to make its vehicles more affordable, boosting accessibility for a wider range of buyers.

CEO’s Statement on Reforms

Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, praised the government’s reform as a “visionary, citizen-centric initiative” that makes car ownership more affordable while simplifying taxation. He reaffirmed Kia’s commitment to passing on the entire GST benefit directly to customers, ensuring greater transparency and value.

Lee further highlighted that this reform could energize market demand ahead of the festive season. He emphasized its broader economic impact, calling it a significant move to promote sustainable growth and mobility innovation in India.

Portfolio and Market Impact

Kia India’s diverse portfolio includes popular models such as the Seltos, Sonet, Carens, Syros, Carnival, EV6, and EV9. With the GST-driven price reductions, Kia strengthens its competitive edge in the passenger vehicle market, particularly at a time when festive season sales traditionally witness a surge.

By transferring the complete tax benefit, Kia positions itself as a customer-first brand and a key player supporting the government’s strategy to stimulate automobile sales. Industry experts expect the move to not only attract new buyers but also uplift consumer sentiment across the sector.

With affordability and accessibility at the forefront, Kia India’s decision is set to spark renewed interest in its ICE lineup and further fuel festive season demand.
