Samsung’s Ballie Robot Faces Another Delay, No Launch in 2025

Samsung’s much-talked-about home robot, Ballie, has been delayed once again and will not launch in 2025 as previously promised. The robot, first introduced as a prototype in 2020, has seen several missed deadlines over the years. The latest report suggests Samsung still needs more time to improve the device before it can be released to the public.

Ballie Delayed Again

According to a report shared with TechRadar, Samsung said it is still working to “refine and perfect the technology” to give users a better experience. This means Ballie is not ready for consumers yet. Earlier, Samsung had promised a summer 2025 launch in the US and South Korea. The company even opened a sign-up page, which raised hopes that Ballie would finally arrive. But the summer launch window passed without any update, and now the robot has been officially delayed again.

Samsung has not shared a new release timeline, and Ballie remains unavailable as of December 2025.

A Long Journey Since 2020

Ballie was first revealed at CES 2020 as a small yellow robot companion. At that time, Samsung had no commercial plans for it. The robot then returned in 2024 with a bigger design and stronger AI features. At CES 2025, Samsung promised a launch in the first half of the year, but that deadline shifted to summer and has now been missed too.

Reports from South Korea suggest Samsung is still unsure about Ballie’s market position, especially due to its expected high pricing. This might be one of the reasons for the repeated delays.

Expected to Reappear at CES 2026

Current reports say Ballie may appear again at CES 2026, where Samsung might finally announce a firm launch date and official pricing. However, nothing is confirmed yet. The company has only said that development is still ongoing.

What Ballie Can Do

Ballie is designed as an AI-powered home companion, not just a smart home controller. It comes in a bright yellow, ball-like shape, roughly the size of a basketball, and moves on wheels. While it cannot climb stairs, it includes features such as:

  • LiDAR and Time-of-Flight sensors
  • Microphones and speakers
  • A 2K rear camera and a 4K front camera
  • A built-in projector

Ballie can project videos and information on walls and floors, follow users around the home, answer questions, control smart devices, play media, manage reminders, and assist with daily tasks. Its AI functions are powered by Google’s Gemini through Samsung’s partnership with Google Cloud.

For now, fans will have to wait longer to see when Ballie finally rolls into homes.
