Microsoft Copilot is testing a new Reminders feature that can send notifications directly to your smartphone. The update is available on Android and iOS, with limited support on the web. This means if you ask Copilot to remind you of something, like “in 10 minutes,” you will get a push notification on your phone at the right time.
To use reminders, you need to have the Copilot app installed and allow notifications on your device. The reminders sync across devices, but alerts are currently sent only on mobile phones. You can set one-time or recurring reminders, such as weekly meetings or daily routines. Reminders can also include changing content, like learning a new Spanish word each day.
There are limits depending on your plan. Free users can set up to five reminders, while Microsoft 365 Personal subscribers can create up to 20 reminders. You can manage reminders in the Copilot app’s Settings, where you can view, add, or delete them.
This new feature is similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT Tasks, which lets users schedule one-time or recurring reminders. ChatGPT can even suggest tasks based on your conversations. Users can view, edit, and manage these tasks through a dedicated page in the app.
Perplexity also offered task scheduling in its AI chatbot for WhatsApp, allowing recurring updates and custom reminders. However, changes in Meta’s policies led to the removal of the WhatsApp bot.
Microsoft Copilot’s reminders make it easier to stay organized and remember important tasks. While still in testing, the feature is gradually being rolled out, and more users can expect to get push notifications on their phones soon.
In short, with Copilot reminders, your AI assistant can now help you remember tasks on your mobile, making everyday planning simpler and more convenient.
