Tejashwi Yadav Says Nitish Kumar ‘Hijacked by BJP’ in Bihar Polls

Tejashwi Targets Nitish and BJP in Rally
RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav launched a sharp attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the BJP during an election rally in Saharsa. Taking a dig at Kumar’s frequent political shifts, Tejashwi said, “Chacha ji’s (Nitish Kumar’s) nature keeps changing — sometimes this side, sometimes that side.” He accused the BJP of taking control of Nitish Kumar once again, claiming that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had already said the BJP would decide the Chief Minister after the elections.

Tejashwi added, “It is sad that BJP leaders are not treating Nitish Kumar fairly. He is good at heart, but he has been hijacked.” His remarks highlighted the opposition’s attempt to portray Nitish as being under BJP’s influence.

The young RJD leader also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that Modi develops factories in Gujarat but wants electoral success in Bihar. “This will not happen,” Tejashwi declared, adding, “We are Biharis — we don’t fear outsiders (Baharis).” Referring to his father, he said, “If Lalu Ji was never afraid of Modi, why should we be?”

Promises of Inclusive Leadership and Development
Tejashwi Yadav assured voters that his leadership would focus on real action rather than empty promises. “What the government could not do in 20 years, we will do in 20 months,” he said, emphasizing that his government would work faster and more efficiently if elected.

He also promised to form a more inclusive administration that represents all communities. Tejashwi announced that Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani would be made Deputy Chief Minister to represent the extremely backward classes. He also pledged to appoint more Deputy Chief Ministers from different religions and social backgrounds to ensure equal representation.

As Bihar heads for assembly elections in two phases — November 6 and 11 — the political battle is intensifying. The Election Commission confirmed that 1,314 candidates remain in the fray, and counting will take place on November 14. The Mahagathbandhan is aiming to challenge the ruling NDA by focusing on unity, social justice, and faster development.
