PM Narendra Modi met all Members of Parliament from Bihar on Monday morning before Parliament began for the day. The MPs had gathered to thank him for guiding the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to a big win in the Bihar Assembly elections. They praised his leadership, and Modi thanked each MP in return, saying their combined hard work made the victory possible.
A Win That Brings More Responsibility
PM Modi told the MPs that while the election results were a great achievement, they also marked the beginning of a bigger responsibility. He reminded them that the real work starts after the election, and urged them to continue focusing on the development and welfare of the people of Bihar. He said that those who trust and vote for leaders should always remain their top priority.
The Prime Minister also interacted with various alliance partners during the meeting. A group photo was taken, and the MPs welcomed him warmly with traditional gifts such as a makhana garland, a Madhubani painting, and a shawl, symbolising Bihar’s rich cultural heritage.
Leaders Present at the Meeting
Many senior NDA leaders were present, including Union Ministers Giriraj Singh and Chirag Paswan, former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, JD(U) working president Sanjay Jha, and RLP president Upendra Kushwaha, along with several other MPs from the alliance.
NDA’s Big Bihar Victory
The 2025 Bihar Assembly election was a major success for the NDA. The alliance won 202 out of 243 seats, a record-breaking result. The BJP became the single-largest party with around 89–91 seats, and its key partner JD(U) followed closely with 83–85 seats. Smaller allies, including the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), added further strength.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar continued in office for another term. On the other hand, the opposition Mahagathbandhan (MGB) performed poorly, managing only 35 seats. The RJD, led by Tejashwi Yadav, won about 25 seats, marking a sharp fall from previous elections.
The results showed a strong shift in Bihar’s politics, with the NDA firmly in control and the opposition losing significant ground. PM Modi’s message to the MPs made it clear that the focus now must be on delivering development and serving the people who placed their trust in them.
