Microsoft has officially launched Xbox Cloud Gaming in India, allowing gamers to stream Xbox games without owning a console. The service is available through Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, which now include Essential, Premium, and Ultimate plans, all offering cloud gaming support.
With Xbox Cloud Gaming, users can play hundreds of Xbox titles directly from the cloud on various devices, including PCs, Macs, iOS and Android phones, tablets, Samsung and LG smart TVs, and Amazon Fire TV. Gamers need a compatible controller, such as an Xbox Wireless controller or Sony’s DualSense, and a high-speed internet connection of at least 20 Mbps. Some games also allow touch or keyboard and mouse controls.
The cloud gaming feature is integrated with the Xbox app, making it easy to access cloud-supported titles as well as select games from a user’s own library. Microsoft also extended the service to its Windows-based gaming handhelds like the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, which were recently launched in India.
Xbox Game Pass plans in India now start at Rs. 499 per month for the Essential plan, which offers access to over 50 games, unlimited cloud streaming, online multiplayer, and other benefits. The Premium plan costs Rs. 699 per month, and the Ultimate plan is priced at Rs. 1,389 per month, offering hundreds of games, unlimited streaming, and day-one access to new titles. The PC-only Game Pass is available at Rs. 939 per month.
Last month, Microsoft updated its Game Pass pricing and introduced the new plans, replacing the previous Core and Standard tiers. All new plans support unlimited cloud streaming for select games, giving players more flexibility to play anywhere without the need for a console.
Gamers in India had spotted hints of the service before the official announcement, with some Reddit users reporting that they could already play cloud-supported games on their PCs via the Xbox app. The launch of Xbox Cloud Gaming in India opens up opportunities for players who want to enjoy high-quality Xbox titles without investing in the hardware.
With this move, Microsoft aims to expand its gaming ecosystem in India, making it easier for players to access games on multiple devices while supporting the growing demand for cloud gaming in the country.
