Samsung Galaxy S26, S26+ Leaks Show Bigger Battery, Display Upgrades

Samsung is expected to launch its Galaxy S26 series early next year, including a base model, a Plus, and an Ultra variant. Ahead of the official release, leaks have revealed key specifications of the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+, along with comparisons to the current Galaxy S25 series.

The Galaxy S26 is tipped to feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch display compared to the 6.2-inch screen on the Galaxy S25. It will retain the same full-HD+ resolution, peak brightness of 2,600 nits, and an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. The phone is expected to run on either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the Exynos 2600 chipset, depending on the market. RAM is likely to remain at 12GB, similar to the Galaxy S25, and the storage options may include 256GB and 512GB, dropping the 128GB variant.

The rear camera setup is expected to remain unchanged, featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is tipped to be 12 megapixels. Battery capacity is expected to increase to 4,300mAh from 4,000mAh, with 25W charging support. The new model could be slimmer at 6.9mm and weigh 164g.

The Galaxy S26+ is also expected to get minor upgrades. It will feature a 6.7-inch QHD display, 2,600 nits peak brightness, and up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. RAM will remain 12GB, with 256GB and 512GB storage options. Its rear camera will remain the same as the S25+, and the selfie camera will also be 12 megapixels. The battery is tipped to be larger at 4,900mAh with 45W fast charging. The S26+ may weigh 190g, slightly lighter than the S25+ at 194g, while thickness stays at 7.3mm.

Overall, the leaks suggest that Samsung is focusing on battery upgrades, slightly larger displays, and faster charging for the S26 series, while keeping most other features similar to the S25 models. These small but useful improvements are aimed at offering better performance and convenience for users, without drastic design changes.
