Honor has officially announced the launch date of its upcoming smartphone, the Honor Power 2. The phone will be unveiled in China on January 5, with the launch event starting at 7:30 pm local time. The company has confirmed that the Honor Power 2 will feature the largest battery ever used in an Honor smartphone, making it a strong option for users who prioritise long battery life.
According to official teasers shared on social media, the Honor Power 2 will pack a massive 10,080mAh battery. Honor claims this battery can deliver up to 20.3 hours of continuous screen-on time, around 22 hours of short video playback, and up to 14.2 hours of gaming on a single charge. This major battery upgrade is expected to attract heavy users such as gamers and content consumers.
The smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite processor, placing it in the premium mid-range segment. It will support 80W wired fast charging, allowing users to recharge the large battery quickly. In addition, the phone will offer 27W reverse charging, enabling it to charge other devices when needed.
Honor has confirmed that the Power 2 will be available in three colour options: Black, Orange, and White. While the official colour names are yet to be revealed, teaser images show a bold design with a large rear camera module. The camera layout appears similar to recent flagship-style designs, giving the phone a premium look.
Based on leaks and reports, the Honor Power 2 is expected to feature a 6.79-inch flat LTPS display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen may offer very high brightness levels, making it suitable for outdoor use. In terms of cameras, the phone is likely to include a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
The device is expected to run on Android 16 with Honor’s MagicOS 10 skin on top. Despite its large battery, the phone is said to be under 8mm thick and weigh around 216 grams, which is relatively slim for its size.
The Honor Power 2 will succeed the original Honor Power, which launched last year with an 8,000mAh battery. With a bigger battery, faster charging, and updated hardware, the new model aims to raise the bar in the long-battery smartphone segment.
