Manika Vishwakarma Shines in Golden Costume at Miss Universe

Manika Vishwakarma, India’s representative at Miss Universe 2025, impressed everyone with her beautiful golden national costume. The outfit, called “The Birth of Enlightenment,” was designed as a tribute to Buddhism and India’s spiritual history. She wore this special costume during the National Costume round ahead of the grand event in Thailand.

Manika walked confidently on stage in a large, golden, floor-length gown. Her costume was inspired by the moment when Prince Siddhartha became Lord Buddha under the Bodhi Tree. The host described her look as an honour to this powerful spiritual event. Manika also made graceful hand gestures that added to her royal appearance.

Her dress was a mix of Indian tradition and modern glamour. It had detailed embroidery and specially designed panels symbolising prosperity, purity, and divine energy. She also wore a large, shining headpiece that made her look even more majestic. The golden and saffron colours in her outfit represented wisdom, peace, and the light of knowledge.

On Instagram, Manika explained that the costume was inspired by the birth of Buddhism in India. She said the design reflected ancient Indian temple architecture. The patterns on the dress were made to look like the leaves of the Bodhi Tree from Bodh Gaya, where Buddha gained enlightenment. She also highlighted the Dharma Chakra – the Wheel of Truth – placed at the centre of her outfit. This golden wheel symbolised moral values, life, and the Eightfold Path of Buddhism.

Behind her gown, a long saffron-coloured trail flowed like the robes worn by Buddhist monks. Her tall headdress, shaped like temple towers found in places like Sanchi, was decorated with gold and crystals. It was crowned with a lotus flower, which is a symbol of purity.

The 74th Miss Universe event will be held on November 21, 2025, in Thailand. Manika will compete with over 130 contestants from around the world. Her national costume has already won many hearts and made India proud on the global stage.
