Amit Aggarwal Blends Science and Style in 'Arcanum'

Designer Amit Aggarwal brought a fresh wave of creativity to the Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 with his latest collection titled ‘Arcanum’. Unlike traditional shows, there was no celebrity showstopper—because the clothes were powerful enough on their own.

Aggarwal’s collection looked beyond beauty and fashion. Inspired by human biology, especially DNA, ‘Arcanum’ showed how the structure of life can become the structure of fashion. The designs used the double helix—the shape of DNA—as a model. The outfits had pleats, spirals, and sharp curves that looked like strands of genetic code.

If his earlier collection ‘Antevorta’ explored time, ‘Arcanum’ explored life itself. Every piece seemed alive, combining science, art, and craft. From flowing gowns to sculpted suits, the outfits were made using metallic polymers along with traditional fabrics like Ikat.

The collection was also a mix of future and heritage. While some designs looked modern and futuristic, others held the charm of Indian textile tradition. Aggarwal’s smart use of colours—deep jewel tones, bright reds, electric blues, and shiny metallics—gave each piece a striking presence.

Even without any celebrity walking the ramp, the collection wowed the audience. The clothes felt mystical and magical, but also rooted in real science and tradition. Aggarwal also used stones like tourmalines, tanzanites, and emeralds to add sparkle and richness.

‘Arcanum’ stood out not just as a fashion show, but as a bold artistic statement. The message was clear—couture can be about more than just weddings. It can be visionary, experimental, and deeply meaningful.

With ‘Arcanum’, Amit Aggarwal once again proved why he’s one of India’s most forward-thinking designers. By turning DNA into design, he reminded us that life itself can inspire style.
