Renault India has launched the updated Kiger compact SUV with prices starting from ₹6.29 lakh and going up to ₹11.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The company hopes this facelift will boost sales during the festive season and maintain momentum before the much-awaited relaunch of the Renault Duster.
Kiger’s role in Renault’s growth
The Kiger has been a key product for Renault in India since its launch in 2021. It accounts for more than half of Renault’s annual sales, which stood at around 37,900 units in FY2024-25. The B-SUV segment, where the Kiger competes, has grown rapidly, rising from 12% of India’s car market in 2021 to 31% in 2025.
Francisco, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing at Renault India, said the facelift reflects the company’s “Renault Rethink” strategy aimed at long-term growth in India.
New design and features
The updated Kiger gets a refreshed front look with a revised grille, larger skid plates, and a new OSS Yellow color. It now comes with full LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, and dual-tone interiors. The cabin is equipped with ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, rain-sensing wipers, an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity, and a 360-degree camera.
Safety and performance
Safety has been improved with six airbags as standard across all variants, along with features like ESP, Hill Start Assist, and TPMS. The SUV retains its 205mm ground clearance and strong roof rails.
On the engine side, the Kiger continues with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 100PS. Renault claims it has the best torque-to-weight ratio in its class. Customers can choose between manual, AMT, and CVT gearbox options, with three driving modes available.
Competitive pricing
Renault has kept prices aggressive, starting at ₹6.29 lakh for the base model and ₹9.99 lakh for the fully loaded turbo variant. The company says this strategy ensures affordability while offering modern features.
The facelifted Kiger will compete with popular rivals such as the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, and Maruti Suzuki Fronx until the Duster makes its comeback.
