India’s MPV market has shown steady strength from April to October 2025, even as SUVs continue to dominate the overall utility vehicle space. The top 10 MPVs of this period highlight a clear trend: buyers still value spacious, practical vehicles that can comfortably carry seven passengers and their luggage. Despite tough competition, models like the Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova and Kia Carens remain strong performers and continue to draw families and fleet buyers.
At Number 1, the Maruti Ertiga continues to lead with 113,322 units. Although its sales are flat compared to last year, the Ertiga achieved its highest-ever monthly sales in October. It remains a popular choice because of its comfort, fuel options and city-friendly nature.
The second spot goes to the Toyota Innova Crysta and Hycross, with combined sales of 64,678 units. The strong-hybrid Hycross has become the key driver of Innova sales, offering better fuel efficiency and premium features. The Innova remains Toyota’s bestseller and a trusted option for big families and commercial use.
The biggest growth story of the year is the Kia Carens, placed third with 50,610 units and a strong 27% rise. The introduction of the Carens Clavis and the electric Clavis EV has boosted demand and widened Kia’s MPV portfolio, making it the fastest-growing model in this segment.
In fourth place, the Maruti XL6 has seen a decline of 10%, selling 20,558 units. Meanwhile, the Renault Triber, a budget-friendly MPV, is in fifth place with 13,847 units, helped by a refreshed model and updated features.
Other models show mixed performance. The Toyota Rumion has dropped 17%, while the Maruti Invicto has seen a small 16% rise. The ultra-luxury Toyota Vellfire continues to find buyers despite its high price, recording a 20% growth. The newly launched Kia Carnival Limousine has also entered the list with 541 units sold. Completing the top 10 is the Mahindra Marazzo, which has posted a surprising 123% growth, though on a low base.
Overall, the MPV segment is proving its strength in India’s changing automobile market, with hybrid technology, electric options and comfort-focused features shaping buyer preferences.
