Tata Motors Unveils 17 New Diesel and Electric Trucks

Tata Motors has introduced a new collection of 17 commercial vehicles in India, which is one of the biggest truck rollouts for the company till date. The new portfolio is comprised of diesel trucks, electric trucks as well as modernized versions of already existing platforms like Prima, Signa and Ultra. The vehicles have a wide range of weights between 7 tonnes and 55 tonnes and are built to comply with the global safety regulations.

The automaker pointed out that the new assortment is centered around safer features, improving fuel efficiency, increasing payload capacity and providing greater digital support through its Fleet Edge services. Tata Motors MD and CEO Girish Wagh speaks of the launch as a sign of the company’s commitment to cutting-edge technology, eco-friendly transportation, and comfortable driving experience.

Among the innovations the Azura series stands out, which is specifically designed for the Intermediate and Light Commercial Vehicle (ILMCV) market. The Azura make is aimed at industries like e-commerce, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) distribution, white goods delivery, agriculture, construction materials, and regional logistics. The trucks will come in different weight categories starting from 7 up to 19 tonnes.

The new Azura series is powered by an all-new 3.6-litre diesel engine that has been developed specifically to improve performance and fuel economy. Tata Motors has also redesigned the cabin and improved driver comfort in order to minimize fatigue during long working hours. The firm claims that this will translate into higher productivity and better vehicle uptime in day-to-day operations.

Tata Motors has additionally enhanced its collection of electric commercial vehicles. The Ultra electric family now offers trucks with 7 tons, 9 tons, and 12 tons capacities, which are primarily targeted at urban, regional, and closed-loop transport.

Additionally, electric models of the Prima line have been launched in the heavy-duty category. The Prima E.55S electric prime mover, designed for long-haul operations, and the Prima E.28K electric tipper, intended for mining and construction, are among the new products. These products promise to deliver the advantage of lower operating costs coupled with zero-emission performance even in the most challenging working environments.
