Symphony Shares Fall 7% as Profit and EBITDA Drop Nearly 70%

Shares of Symphony Ltd. fell sharply by about 7% on Thursday, November 6, 2025, after the company announced disappointing financial results for the September quarter (Q2 FY26). The company’s earnings showed a major drop in profit, revenue, and margins compared to the same period last year.

Symphony’s net profit for the quarter fell 66% year-on-year to ₹19 crore, down from ₹56 crore in the same quarter last year. The decline in earnings reflected weaker consumer demand and pressure on margins in the cooling products segment.

The company’s revenue also dropped sharply by 44%, falling to ₹163 crore from ₹289 crore in the year-ago period. This shows a significant slowdown in sales, both in domestic and export markets.

Symphony’s Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) also saw a huge fall. The company reported an EBITDA of ₹24 crore, which is 69% lower than last year. The EBITDA margin — a key indicator of profitability — narrowed from 26.6% to 15%, marking a drop of more than 10 percentage points.

Following these results, Symphony’s stock price traded around ₹876.5, down by 7.1% on the day. Investors reacted negatively as the results fell short of expectations across all key parameters.

The broader consumer durables sector also faced selling pressure after Blue Star, another major player, cut its revenue growth forecast for the full financial year. Blue Star said it now expects the Room Air Conditioner (AC) industry to see a 15% decline this year, which further dampened investor sentiment toward cooling and appliance companies like Symphony.

Analysts suggest that Symphony’s weak performance could be linked to lower seasonal demand, rising costs, and slow recovery in export markets. The company may need to focus on improving cost control and expanding product reach to recover in the coming quarters.

Overall, Symphony’s Q2 results highlight a tough quarter for the cooling industry, with profits, margins, and revenues all under significant pressure.
