New Addition to Hyundai’s Leadership Team
Hyundai Motor India Limited has announced the appointment of Sunil Moolchandani to its senior management team, effective from October 23, 2025. The company shared this update through a regulatory filing with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Moolchandani’s appointment marks another major move by Hyundai following the recent selection of Tarun Garg as the first Indian Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in the company’s 29-year history in India.
Sunil Moolchandani brings with him more than 24 years of experience in the automotive and commercial sectors. Before joining Hyundai, he worked with Maruti Suzuki India Limited as Chief Commercial Officer for the Central Zone. During his time there, he played an important role in expanding the company’s market presence and improving operational efficiency. His deep understanding of the automobile business and strong leadership skills are expected to strengthen Hyundai’s position in the highly competitive Indian car market.
Educational and Professional Background
Moolchandani completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pune in 1999. To further enhance his management skills, he pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), Pune, between 1999 and 2001. His academic background and practical experience have helped him build a strong foundation in both engineering and business management.
The company filing regarding his appointment was signed by Pradeep Chugh, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited. Hyundai is listed on Indian stock exchanges under the symbol HYUNDAI on NSE and scrip code 544274 on BSE.
With Moolchandani joining Hyundai’s leadership, the company aims to further boost its business strategy and customer engagement in India. His experience at Maruti Suzuki, one of Hyundai’s top competitors, may offer valuable insights for Hyundai’s future growth in the Indian automotive market.
