Leaks Hint At 33 Percent Speed Boost Over Previous Ultra Model
The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could arrive with a major upgrade in charging speed. According to recent leaks, the flagship device may feature 60W wired fast charging, which would make it 33 percent faster than its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Charging Speed Rumours And 3C Listing
A well-known tipster, @UniverseIce, shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely support 60W fast charging, keeping in line with earlier rumours. However, a listing spotted on China’s 3C certification website suggested the phone would stick to 45W charging, the same as the S25 Ultra. This has caused some confusion among fans, but many are hopeful Samsung will finally step up its charging technology.
Samsung introduced 45W fast charging with the Galaxy S22 Ultra in 2022 and has continued with the same speed for its Ultra models. If the new reports are correct, the S26 Ultra would mark the company’s first major jump in charging speed in years.
Battery Capacity Expected To Remain Same
Despite the faster charging claims, reports say the Galaxy S26 Ultra will continue with a 5,000mAh battery, the same size used since the Galaxy S20 Ultra in 2020. While the capacity has not changed, Samsung has managed to improve efficiency and battery life with each new model.
For instance, the Galaxy S24 Ultra lasted 23 hours and 2 minutes in Gadgets 360’s video loop test, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra extended that to an impressive 27 hours and 34 minutes. This shows that even without larger batteries, Samsung is making steady improvements in real-world performance.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 and S26 Edge are expected to keep 25W charging support, just like the current models.
If Samsung does confirm 60W charging, it will give the S26 Ultra a much-needed edge in the competitive flagship smartphone market. The official launch is expected next year, and fans will be watching closely for confirmation of these upgrades.
