Apple Discontinues Older iPhones After iPhone 17 Launch

New iPhone 17 Series Unveiled
Apple has launched its latest flagship lineup, introducing the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The new phones feature a slim design, aluminum unibody on Pro models, and the powerful A19 family of chipsets. With these launches, Apple has also phased out select older models from its global stores and website.

Discontinued iPhone Models
Following the debut of the iPhone 17 series, Apple has discontinued the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15, and iPhone 15 Plus. This move prevents older devices from affecting sales of the new models. Meanwhile, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16e remain available.

Price Cuts on Older Models
Alongside discontinuation, Apple has slashed the price of the iPhone 16 in India by Rs. 10,000. The 128GB variant is now priced at Rs. 69,900, while the iPhone 16 Plus is available at Rs. 79,990 (128GB) and Rs. 89,990 (256GB). Higher storage variants of the iPhone 16 have been discontinued.

New Apple Watches and AirPods
Apple has also updated its wearables and earphones lineup. The new Apple Watch SE 3, Series 11, and Watch Ultra 3 replace older models like Watch SE 2, Series 10, and Watch Ultra 2. Similarly, the AirPods Pro 3, featuring AI-powered Live Translation, succeed the AirPods Pro 2.

  • iPhone Air: Rs. 1,19,900 (256GB), Rs. 1,39,900 (512GB), Rs. 1,59,900 (1TB)
  • iPhone 17 Pro: Rs. 1,34,900 (256GB), Rs. 1,54,900 (512GB), Rs. 1,74,900 (1TB)
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: Rs. 1,49,900–2,29,900 (256GB–2TB variants)

Pre-Order and Sale Dates
Pre-orders for all new iPhones will start on September 12 at 5:30 PM IST, with sales officially beginning on September 19.
