Tata Harrier EV: Bold, Electric, and Built for India

Tata Motors has launched the all-electric version of its popular SUV – the Harrier EV – and it’s packed with power, style, and smart tech.

The Harrier EV is Tata’s first all-wheel-drive electric SUV, offered with both single- and dual-motor options. The top-end variant produces a strong 313hp and 504Nm of torque, helping it go from 0-100kph in just 6.3 seconds. It has two battery choices – 65kWh and 75kWh – offering ranges of 538km and 627km respectively.

Built on a revised platform called acti.ev plus, the Harrier EV’s chassis is reinforced for better safety and includes a flat floor to fit the battery. It has earned a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, scoring top marks for both adult and child safety. Safety features include 7 airbags, ESC, and Level-2 ADAS with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking.

The SUV keeps the strong Harrier look but adds EV-specific elements like a closed grille and aero-optimised 19-inch wheels. Inside, it gets premium features like ventilated seats, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone climate control.

Tech lovers will enjoy the 14.5-inch Samsung QLED touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, and Tata’s TiDAL system for seamless connectivity. Features like a 540° camera, digital key, and summon mode make it future-ready. The Harman Black 10-speaker audio system supports Dolby Atmos for top-class sound.

Charging is quick too – 20% to 80% in just 25 minutes using a 120kW DC fast charger. Tata sources its battery tech from Octillion Power Systems, with a lifetime warranty offered.

The Harrier EV competes with Mahindra’s BE and XEV series but keeps a familiar, rugged design, giving buyers a realistic EV alternative. Starting at ₹21.49 lakh, Tata aims to win over EV buyers looking for a powerful, practical, and well-equipped SUV.

With strong performance, top safety, and futuristic tech, the Harrier EV could charge ahead in India’s electric SUV race.
