Hardeep Singh Brar Becomes New CEO of BMW India

BMW Group India has announced a major leadership change. Hardeep Singh Brar will take over as the new President and CEO from September 1, 2025. He replaces Vikram Pawah, who will now lead BMW operations in Australia and New Zealand. This change is part of a larger reshuffle by BMW Group in the Asia-Pacific region.

Brar is a well-known figure in the Indian automobile industry. He has over 30 years of experience and has worked with top companies like Maruti-Suzuki, Volkswagen, General Motors, Nissan, and Great Wall Motors. Before joining BMW, he was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kia India. There, he played a key role in making Kia a strong brand in India.

BMW Group’s Senior Vice President, Jean-Philippe Parain, praised Brar’s deep understanding of the Indian market. He said India is a fast-growing market for BMW and Brar’s leadership will help grow the brand even further.

Brar holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Thapar Institute in Punjab. He also completed the Senior Executive Leadership Program from Harvard Business School. His expertise spans across many areas like sales, marketing, customer service, network development, and business strategy.

Vikram Pawah, the outgoing CEO, has had a successful journey with BMW India. He served two terms, first from 2017-2018 and then again from 2020-2025. Under his leadership, BMW focused on electric vehicles, digital technology, retail innovation, and improving customer satisfaction. Parain thanked Pawah for his valuable work and dedication.

BMW Group India operates in the premium car market with brands like BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad. With Brar’s experience and leadership, the company hopes to strengthen its position even further in the Indian market and continue its growth in the luxury car segment.
