Vida VX2 Launching July 1: Hero’s Cheapest E-Scooter Yet

Hero MotoCorp’s electric brand Vida is ready to launch its most budget-friendly electric scooter in India. Called the Vida VX2, this scooter will officially be launched on July 1 and is expected to be the cheapest model from the brand so far.

The Vida VX2 will compete with other popular electric scooters like the Ola S1 Air, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak. Just like them, this scooter is being introduced as a low-cost option for people who want a simple and reliable e-scooter for everyday city travel.

Budget-Friendly and Flexible Price

The expected price of the Vida VX2 is around ₹90,000 (ex-showroom). However, Hero MotoCorp is also offering a smart option called the BaaS scheme (Battery as a Service). This will let customers buy the scooter without the battery, which is usually the most expensive part. Instead, they can pay a monthly fee or per kilometre for using the battery. With this scheme, the cost of the scooter may come down to around ₹70,000 (ex-showroom), making it a great option for those looking for affordable electric mobility.

What to Expect from the Vida VX2

The design of the VX2 is based on the Vida Z concept shown earlier at the EICMA show. It will share its main structure with the Vida V2, but will have some new features too. It is likely to come with:

  • LED headlamps, DRLs, indicators, and taillights
  • A TFT digital display on the dashboard
  • A flat single seat for easy riding

To keep the price low, the base version of VX2 may not have disc brakes, while the top variant will include a front disc brake.

Overall, the Vida VX2 aims to be an affordable, practical, and modern electric scooter for Indian roads, especially for city use. With this launch, Hero MotoCorp hopes to make electric scooters more reachable for the common man.
