Paris Haute Couture Week Begins Amid Heatwave

Paris Haute Couture Week has started, and top designers are ready to show their most detailed and creative fashion pieces from July 7 to 10, 2025. Even though Paris is facing a severe heatwave — so hot that the Eiffel Tower summit had to close — the city’s fashion world remains full of energy and excitement.

Haute Couture is known for its handmade clothes, created with expert skills and many hours of work by tailors and seamstresses. These one-of-a-kind pieces are made for the world’s richest clients, like celebrities, royals, and wealthy collectors. Pascal Morand, head of France’s top fashion body, called the week a display of “unmatched creativity and skill.”

The event begins with Schiaparelli’s collection by American designer Daniel Roseberry. His designs are often seen on red carpets and were recently worn by Lauren Sánchez at her wedding. Famous fashion houses like Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Elie Saab, and Iris Van Herpen will also showcase their collections this week. Chanel’s show will be its last before new designer Matthieu Blazy takes over in October.

Big moments include Demna’s final show for Balenciaga after leading the brand for 10 years. Belgian designer Glenn Martens, known for reviving Diesel, will present his first collection for Maison Margiela. He replaces the legendary John Galliano, whose last show for Margiela was a huge hit with critics.

Also, off the official schedule, designer Jonathan Anderson will present a new collection for his label JW Anderson. His show will be held at Galerie Joseph in the Marais. Anderson recently made his Dior debut and says he will focus on quality rather than doing many shows.

With so much creativity and excitement packed into just a few days, Paris Haute Couture Week promises unforgettable fashion moments, even as the summer heat blazes outside.
