Global sportswear brand Nike has teamed up with Indian fashion label NorBlack NorWhite to launch a special clothing collection. This is the first time Nike has collaborated with an Indian brand. The new line combines traditional Indian bandhani tie-dye with modern sportswear.
NorBlack NorWhite (NBNW) is a Delhi-based label founded by Mriga Kapadiya and Amrit Kumar. They are known for mixing traditional Indian craft with modern street style. In this collection, they bring the colorful bandhani design to everyday Nike outfits.
The collection includes four shoes, a hoodie, tank top, cropped t-shirt, two bralettes, a pair of shorts, and tights. Some designs feature bandhani prints on the sides or in details like crossbody bags. The pieces are made to support women in all activities—whether at the gym, traveling, or relaxing.
Nike said the goal was to use Indian crafts in sportswear that women can wear comfortably. The campaign was shot in Jaipur and featured Indian athletes like wrestler Anshu Malik, sprinter Priya Mohan, and cricketers Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma.
Jemimah said this campaign feels different because it was made in India by a brand that understands Indian culture. She said wearing sportswear with Indian roots is a proud moment and shows that women in sports are bold, confident, and stylish.
The collaboration is a big step for Indian fashion, especially at a time when many global brands are being called out for copying Indian designs without giving credit. This Nike collection proudly celebrates Indian heritage while keeping it modern and sporty.
Kapadiya and Kumar said in a post, “15 years ago, we never imagined bandhani in sportswear—but here we are, and it’s beautiful.”
