Apple has released the iOS 26 Beta 3 update for iPhones, bringing several small but important design changes. The update is available for registered Apple developers and beta testers using iPhone 11 or newer models. It comes just a month after Apple showed iOS 26 during the WWDC 2025 event.
One of the main changes in Beta 3 is the improved Liquid Glass design. This feature, which gives apps and icons a shiny, glass-like look, has been updated to appear darker. Many users earlier said the design made text hard to read, especially with light wallpapers. With this darker update, Apple hopes it will now be easier to read and more user-friendly. The changes are most visible in apps like Apple Music and Podcasts, especially when playing media.
Beta 3 also brings four new colour options for Apple’s stock wallpapers. Users can now choose from Shadow, Sky, Halo, and Dusk. These wallpapers look even better when Dark Mode is turned on, offering a rich and colourful background experience.
Another small but useful improvement is in the app dock. Earlier, if you placed fewer than four apps in the dock, they would align to the left. Now, the icons stay centred, making the screen look cleaner. Also, icons for the Files and Photos apps have received slight design changes, giving them a fresher look.
However, some features of iOS 26 like Apple Intelligence will only work on newer devices, such as the iPhone 16 series and the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max.
Overall, iOS 26 Beta 3 is focused on improving looks and readability. Apple seems to be listening to user feedback and fixing earlier issues before the final version of iOS 26 is released later this year as a free update.
If you’re a developer or beta tester, you can download iOS 26 Beta 3 over the air (OTA) now. For everyone else, the full version will be available in the coming months.
