Canva has introduced a brand-new tool that lets users make short video clips with sound using just text or voice. This feature is powered by Google’s Veo 3, an advanced video-generation model.
The new tool is called “Create a Video Clip”, and it allows people to easily make 8-second video clips. All users need to do is type or speak what they want, and the AI will turn it into a video complete with audio.
This feature is not available to everyone, though. It is open only to users who are on Canva’s paid plans, including Pro, Teams, and Enterprise. It is also available to those using Canva for Nonprofits. Additionally, users of Leonardo.Ai — a creative AI startup that Canva bought in 2024 — can also use this feature, but only if they have a paid subscription.
Right now, Canva is placing a limit on how many videos people can create. Each user can make up to five video clips per month. This limit may change in the future as Canva tests and improves the tool.
By teaming up with Google’s Veo 3, Canva is making it easier for people to create quick, high-quality videos without needing special skills or software. This is especially helpful for creators, small businesses, and social media users who want to make engaging content quickly.
This latest move shows how AI is changing the way we design and create content online. With just a few words, anyone can now turn an idea into a short video with sound — all within Canva’s simple interface.
