Apple Music is celebrating its 10th birthday in a big way. The company is opening a brand-new creative space called Apple Music Studios in Culver City, Los Angeles. This large, three-story building is 15,000 square feet in size and will open in mid-August.
The studio is designed to help artists create music, videos, and connect with fans in exciting new ways. It has two advanced radio studios that support spatial audio, live talks, and surprise performances. There’s also a huge 4,000-square-foot stage for live music shows, fan events, and even video shoots like in films.
Culver City is home to many big entertainment companies like Sony Music and Amazon Music, so it’s a perfect spot for Apple Music’s latest move.
The building is designed by Eric Owen Moss, a well-known architect famous for creating unique and modern buildings in the area.
Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director, says the new studio is the “future of music.” He and fellow host Ebro Darden will kick off a weeklong Apple Music celebration with a special radio show that looks back at how Apple Music Radio started.
Apple wants this studio to be a “creative sanctuary” for musicians and creators. It will also include spaces for social media, editing, podcasts, interviews, and more. There will be private booths for writing songs, recording podcasts, or having quiet chats.
The walls of the studio will show pictures and artwork that highlight Apple Music’s journey over the past 10 years.
This new studio is just the start. Apple Music plans to open more creative hubs in cities like New York and London soon. These will join other Apple Music spaces already working in Tokyo, Paris, Berlin, and Nashville.
Oliver Schusser, Vice President of Apple Music, said they want to support all kinds of creators—whether they are singers, filmmakers, or photographers—by giving them a space to express their talent and tell stories.
Apple Music Studios aims to bring music lovers and artists even closer.
