Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently addressed the Rajya Sabha and spoke about the ongoing crisis in West Asia and India’s response to it. He said the war has created a serious global energy problem and is affecting India’s supply of fuel, gas, and fertilizers.
The Prime Minister expressed concern about the safety of Indians living in Gulf countries. He said around one crore Indians work in the region, and many Indian crew members are currently stuck on ships near the Strait of Hormuz. He stressed that attacks on ships and important trade routes are unacceptable.
Modi said India is in constant contact with countries like Iran, Israel, the United States, and other Gulf nations. The goal is to reduce tensions and restore peace through dialogue and diplomacy. He added that India is working hard to ensure the safe movement of ships and continuous supply of essential goods.
He also assured that India has enough reserves of oil and gas. The government is making efforts to import energy from different countries to avoid shortages. Strategic petroleum reserves have been increased, and more steps are being taken to strengthen supply systems.
To manage the situation, the government has formed special groups to monitor imports, exports, and inflation. Modi said that India’s economy remains strong and prepared to handle global challenges. He also promised that farmers will not face shortages of fertilizers during the upcoming season.
In another development, Modi shared an article by Jagat Prakash Nadda about India’s efforts to eliminate tuberculosis. The article highlights the role of public participation and increased investment in research and diagnostics.
India has been working on developing its own TB testing systems and strengthening healthcare partnerships. The government aims to eliminate TB with the help of modern technology and community support.
Overall, the Prime Minister called for unity, patience, and cooperation among states to handle the crisis effectively.
