Galaxy Watch 8 Renders Reveal Sleek New Design with Subtle ‘Squircle’ Shape

The first official-looking renders of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 have surfaced online, giving fans a glimpse of the upcoming smartwatch’s fresh new design. Published by Android Headlines, the leaked images showcase the base model of the Galaxy Watch 8, marking a noticeable shift in design language compared to previous versions.

While earlier leaks revealed the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic and its resemblance to last year’s Watch Ultra, the base model appears to strike a unique balance between sleek minimalism and bold modernity. The device sports a circular display, but the surrounding frame adopts a softer “squircle” shape — a hybrid of square and circle — lending the watch a subtle yet stylish edge.

Unlike the chunkier Watch Ultra and Classic, the base Galaxy Watch 8 has a much cleaner look, with minimal frame extension beyond the display. The smartwatch keeps things simple with just two buttons on the right side, retaining the familiar layout seen in previous models.

This new design had been hinted at through earlier software leaks, but these renders provide the clearest image yet of the final product. However, not everyone is convinced — early opinions are mixed, with some fans praising the sleek update while others call it underwhelming.

According to the report, the Galaxy Watch 8 will come in two sizes, unlike the Classic version, which is expected to launch in just one. The leaked images also show the Watch 8 Classic in both black and silver, while the Watch Ultra is seen in a bold new blue color. It remains uncertain whether any internal upgrades accompany this visual refresh.

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Watch 8 series next month, alongside other major product announcements. Stay tuned for more updates as the launch approaches.
