Kejriwal Dares BJP After Court Relief

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a sharp attack on the BJP after a court discharged him in the liquor policy case. He challenged the party to hold fresh elections in Delhi, saying he would quit politics if the BJP wins more than 10 seats.

A Delhi court granted relief to Kejriwal, former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, and 21 others. The court also criticised the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), stating that its charge sheet had “internal contradictions” that weakened the conspiracy theory.

Speaking after the verdict, Kejriwal called the ruling historic and praised the judge’s courage. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had conspired to politically target the Aam Aadmi Party through what he described as a fake case.

Kejriwal said he has built his public life on honesty and that the allegations damaged his reputation. He also became emotional while addressing reporters, saying it was the first time a sitting chief minister had been “dragged out of his home and put in jail.”

The AAP chief announced that the party will now move court seeking discharge in related cases filed by the Enforcement Directorate. Meanwhile, celebrations erupted at his residence, where party workers distributed sweets, played drums, and shouted slogans in support of their leader.

Kejriwal’s wife Sunita thanked the court and said she had faith that the truth would prevail. Party leaders claimed the verdict would boost the morale of workers ahead of upcoming elections, including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi polls next year.

Reiterating his political challenge, Kejriwal accused the BJP of misgovernance in Delhi and dared the party to test its popularity through fresh polls.
