Reliance Consumer Buys Global Rights to Top Care Brands

Reliance Shares Fall After Q3 Results Announcement

Reliance Consumer, the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has acquired global rights to several well-known international personal care brands. These include Brylcreem, Toni & Guy, Badedas, and Matey, according to the company’s latest update shared with its financial results.

The company did not disclose the financial details of the deal. However, it said that it plans to grow these brands both in India and in international markets. Reliance Consumer stated that it has acquired global rights to these heritage brands, with a few regions excluded, and aims to strengthen their presence worldwide.

Brylcreem is a British brand known for men’s hair styling products and has a strong market presence in India and other countries. Toni & Guy started as a salon brand and later expanded into haircare and styling products. Badedas is a German personal care brand famous for products made with natural plant extracts. Matey is a UK-based brand focused on personal care products for children.

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL) became a direct subsidiary of Reliance Industries on December 1, 2025, after being demerged from Reliance Retail. Earlier, the company had acquired the Tamil Nadu-based personal care brand Velvette. It has since relaunched Velvette with products such as soaps, shampoos, shower gels, body lotions, and talcum powders. RCPL also owns in-house brands like Glimmer and Get Real.

Apart from personal care, RCPL has expanded into food products. In November 2025, it acquired a majority stake in Udhaiyams Agro Foods, which has a strong presence in staples like rice, pulses, and snacks.

In the December quarter, RCPL reported strong financial growth. Its gross revenue rose 1.6 times year-on-year to ₹5,065 crore. For FY26 so far, its revenue has crossed ₹15,000 crore, showing solid expansion.
