Adobe Firefly Gets Major AI Upgrade With New Models, Video Tools, and Limited-Time Unlimited Generations

Adobe Firefly

Adobe has announced a major update to its Firefly platform, bringing new AI models, powerful editing tools, and a special limited-time offer for paid users. Select subscribers will be able to generate unlimited AI images and videos in the Firefly app until January 15, giving creators more freedom to experiment without limits.

The company says the update is aimed at improving user control and flexibility while creating AI-generated content. The new features are available across Firefly’s website and mobile apps on Android and iOS.

One of the biggest additions is the Prompt to Edit tool for AI videos. Powered by Runway’s Aleph model, this feature allows users to edit an AI-generated video using text prompts after it has been created. Earlier, users had to start from scratch if something went wrong in the video. Now, they can simply type instructions to refine or correct specific parts, saving both time and effort.

Adobe has also introduced a camera motion reference tool. With this feature, users can upload a starting image along with a reference video that shows the desired camera movement. Firefly then combines both elements to create a new video that follows the same motion style, offering more creative control over the final output.

Two new AI models have also been added to the platform. The first is Topaz Astra, which helps upscale videos to 1080p or 4K by improving clarity and detail. Users can run this process in the background and even queue multiple videos at once. The second model is Flux.2 from Black Forest Labs. This image generation and editing model focuses on photorealistic results, accurate text rendering, and support for up to four reference images.

Flux.2 is available in Firefly’s text-to-image tools, Prompt to Edit feature, Firefly Boards, and Photoshop’s Generative Fill. It will also be added to Adobe Express in January.

Adobe has further expanded access to its Firefly video editor, which is now widely available in public beta. The browser-based editor lets users combine AI-generated clips, music, and visuals using a multi-track timeline. It also supports text-based editing for interview and talking-head videos.

To top it off, Adobe is offering Firefly Pro and Firefly Premium users unlimited image and video generations until January 15, making this update especially attractive for creators working on multiple projects.
