Football legend Lionel Messi recently completed his first-ever GOAT Tour in India, visiting cities like Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi. After the tour, Messi visited Vantara, a wildlife rescue and conservation centre founded by Anant Ambani. During this visit, he was gifted an extremely rare luxury watch worth around ₹10.9 crore, which quickly caught global attention.

The watch gifted to Messi is the Richard Mille RM 003-V2 GMT Tourbillon “Asia Edition”. What makes this timepiece special is its extreme rarity. Only 12 pieces of this model exist worldwide, making it one of the most exclusive watches ever produced by the luxury Swiss brand.

Interestingly, Messi was seen arriving at the event without wearing a watch. Later, he was spotted wearing the RM 003-V2, confirming that he had received the rare gift during his visit.

The RM 003-V2 is not just expensive because of its brand name. It is packed with advanced features and high-end engineering. The watch uses a manual-winding tourbillon movement, which helps improve time accuracy by reducing the effect of gravity. It displays hours, minutes, and dual time zones, making it useful for global travelers.

The watch also includes a function selector, a power-reserve indicator, and a torque indicator. These features allow the wearer to monitor the performance and energy of the watch easily. All these elements are shown on a skeleton dial, which reveals the complex mechanics inside.

The 38mm case is made from Carbon TPT, a lightweight and durable material originally developed for aerospace and Formula 1 racing. The watch also features a unique sapphire disc that creates a glowing effect for the hour numbers at the 3 o’clock position.

This rare watch is owned by only a few elite individuals worldwide, including royalty, Formula 1 drivers, and famous watch collectors. With its limited production, cutting-edge design, and advanced technology, it is easy to understand why Messi’s Richard Mille watch costs nearly ₹11 crore.
