Apple is preparing to introduce its next major software update, iOS 27, and early reports suggest it will bring big improvements in artificial intelligence and overall user experience. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the update is expected to be showcased at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2026 and may roll out to users by September 2026, following Apple’s usual release pattern.
iOS 27 is expected to focus heavily on two main areas — better system quality and expanded AI features. This shift comes after users reported several issues with iOS 26, including overheating, rapid battery drain, UI glitches, unstable keyboard performance, network problems, and frequent app crashes. To fix these issues, Apple engineers are said to be carefully examining the system to remove unnecessary components, solve known bugs, and deliver noticeably improved performance. These stability upgrades are expected to benefit all supported iPhones, including Apple’s rumoured foldable model.
A major highlight of iOS 27 will be new Apple Intelligence features. Apple plans to add more AI tools across its apps, with special focus on health-related features. A new “health-focused” AI model may be introduced as part of the company’s Health+ subscription service. This move would help Apple compete with leading AI platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity.
Apple is also believed to be working on a redesigned and more powerful Siri. While the AI-enhanced Siri may begin rolling out with the iOS 26.4 update, the full experience will likely arrive with iOS 27. Internally, Apple is testing a separate text-based AI chatbot app known as Veritas. This app is being used to develop the updated Siri system, but it reportedly won’t be released to the public.
At WWDC 2026, Apple is expected to reveal the complete list of features and new UI designs coming with iOS 27. The update is likely to be available for eligible iPhones shortly after the launch of the iPhone Fold and the iPhone 18 Pro series in late 2026. Developers may get early access through the first beta version as soon as July 2026.
Overall, iOS 27 aims to make iPhones smarter, faster, more reliable, and more AI-driven than ever before.
