The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024) continues to impress even a year after its launch, offering a powerful combination of performance and sleek design. While the 2025 models feature newer GPUs, the 2024 G16 remains a solid choice for gamers and creators who value a large display and strong hardware.
Design and Display
The 16-inch laptop has a slim aluminium body, weighing just 1.85kg, making it portable despite its size. Its clean design fits perfectly in both office settings and gaming setups, with a minimalistic diagonal lightbar as the only “gamer” touch. The 2.5K OLED panel is the standout feature, offering vivid colours, deep blacks, and HDR support. The 240Hz refresh rate and G-Sync make it ideal for gaming, while the 16:10 aspect ratio works well for productivity.
Keyboard, Touchpad, and Audio
The full-size keyboard with single-zone RGB lighting provides excellent typing feedback. Dedicated volume, mute, and ROG keys make navigation easy. The large glass touchpad is precise, though clicks at the corners need a bit more pressure. The quad-speaker setup delivers clear audio, while the 1080p webcam with Windows Hello offers convenience for video calls.
Performance
Powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, 32GB RAM, and 2TB SSD, the G16 handles both work and gaming effortlessly. The RTX 4070 GPU can run most AAA games at 2K resolution with high settings, achieving framerates above 60fps. Turbo mode boosts performance for demanding tasks but increases fan noise. Thermal management can be a challenge during heavy gaming, but overall performance remains strong.
Battery Life
Battery life is average, with 1–1.5 hours during gaming and around 4 hours for normal use. Charging via the 200W adapter is quick, and USB-C Power Delivery is supported.
Verdict
The 2024 ROG Zephyrus G16 is still a great choice in 2025, especially for those who want a large OLED display and strong CPU performance without paying a premium for the latest GPU. While the RTX 4070 is slightly behind the 2025 RTX 5080, the Rs. 1.1 lakh lower price makes it a solid, value-for-money gaming laptop.
